Just 14 months after a senseless arson attack destroyed part of the UK’s most prestigious collection of vintage funeral vehicles at their Navestock stables
T Cribb & Son Carriage Masters took delivery of two new transporters to complete the replacement of the vehicles tragically lost in the fire.

Jack Cribb, great great grandson of Thomas Cribb the founder of the business that was established in 1881, proudly took deliveryof the Mercedes transporters that have been custom built by Oakley, providers of the world’s finest horseboxes.

“ We were fortunate to have sourced replacements for the Dotteridge and two Marston hearses and hired in transporters to maintain continuity of service to our clients. The new Oakley transporters had to be custom built to our own exacting specifications and we are delighted to have finally taken delivery of them - it was well worth the wait. Tradition has played a key role in the day-to-day running of our business with great emphasis being placed on attention to detail”

Jack’s cousin, Sarah, bravely rescued two grey horses from the blaze and the fourteen Black Friesian horses at the stables also survived unhurt.
